OBSERVATION OF CORRELATED DISPLACEMENT OF VORTEX-ANTIVORTEX PAIRS IN MAGNETIC TRILAYERS

Researchers from the University of Oviedo, the University of Porto and the ALBA Synchrotron have visualized with synchrotron light the motion of vortex-antivortex pairs along strip magnetic domains in magnetic structures, what represents an interesting discovery that could have applications for memory and logic devices.

MAPS SHOW HOW DRUGS REVERSE ALTERATIONS IN HEPATITIS C-INFECTED CELLS

The first 3D map of the interior of cells affected by the virus. Scientists at the Centro Nacional de Biotecnología of the CSIC (CNB-CSIC) and the ALBA Synchrotron have observed the alterations caused by the hepatitis C virus at the endoplasmic reticulum and mitochondria of infected cells. These malformations were reversed by treatment with the most common antiviral drugs for hepatitis C.
