The Radiation Protection group is responsible of the radiation hazard safety at the Synchrotron ALBA. Its main mission is detailed in the following diagram:
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Developing a policy and working procedures to prevent any radiological risk.
- Communicating with the Spanish Nuclear Council (CSN) and applying the current safety regulations.

Electronic personal dosimeters (EPD) |
||
Thermoluminescent dosimeters (TLD) |
Portable detectors (gamma and neutron) |
Since ALBA accelerators started to work in 2009, the radiation levels measured outside the bunkers have never surpassed the public zone classification.
